Chapter 1422: Intermission 6: Big Women All Around (1)
Meria was an ogre who was incredibly strong.
Honestly, even calling her "incredibly strong" felt like underselling her a little.
She was strong enough to stand on equal ground against Zes, and that alone already said a lot. Zes was easily one of the strongest women I had ever met. Someone like her wasn’t the kind of person you casually compared others to unless they were genuinely monsters themselves.
And Meria definitely fit that category.
Zes had terrifying raw power. The kind of strength where you just knew she could crush bones with her bare hands if she really wanted to. At the same time, she wasn’t just some slow powerhouse either. Her agility was ridiculous. Even with her large frame, she moved frighteningly fast.
Back when I fought her in her world, she had been jumping from building to building without even using mana. Just pure physical ability. The image of it was still stuck in my head honestly. Massive concrete structures looked like stepping stones to her. She would crouch slightly, kick off the ground, and suddenly she was already on the next rooftop before your brain fully caught up.
She was basically like the Hulk.
Well, minus the green skin.
Although... now that I looked at Meria again, maybe the Hulk comparison fit her even more.
She was green, after all.
That thought almost made me laugh a little, but the atmosphere around the two women killed the humor before it could even fully settle in my head.
Both of them stood facing each other.
Tall.
Huge.
The kind of huge that made ordinary people instinctively take a few steps back without even realizing it. Meria was considerably larger than Zes too. Broader shoulders, thicker arms, larger overall build. She looked like she could grab a grown man with one hand and casually toss him across the room like unwanted furniture.
Meanwhile, Zes looked more compact in comparison, but that honestly didn’t make her any less intimidating. If anything, it just made her look more dangerous. Like a predator that didn’t need to show off size because it already knew how lethal it was.
The two of them stared at each other without speaking.
Just from the tension alone, anyone could tell they were about to fight.
And honestly?
It was kind of terrifying to watch.
At least for a normal person.
I mean, imagine seeing two gigantic women staring each other down like they were seconds away from leveling the entire area. Most people would probably look away immediately and pretend they saw nothing. Survival instincts existed for a reason.
This wasn’t exactly something you got to witness every day either.
Calling it "duking it out" honestly fit perfectly.
Zes clearly wanted to prove something. I could tell just from the way she stood there. Her eyes were locked onto Meria with this stubborn intensity that practically screamed, I’m stronger than you.
And to prove that, she had chosen the hardest possible target.
Meria.
One of the strongest women I had ever seen.
Meria was an ogre, a race known for their massive physiques and absurd raw strength. Their bodies were naturally built for overwhelming force. Against ordinary humans, ogres were practically nightmares walking around in broad daylight.
A normal person wouldn’t even stand a chance.
Then again, Zes wasn’t exactly normal either.
Sure, she was human.
Technically.
That word barely felt right when describing her though. Her physical strength alone already pushed far beyond what humans should normally be capable of. Then there was her agility. Despite her size, she moved unbelievably fast. Fast enough that most people probably wouldn’t even process what happened before getting hit.
I looked at both of them carefully.
Apparently, I was the umpire for this little match.
They told me to watch over the fight, so that was what I was going to do.
Honestly, I didn’t mind at all.
This looked like it was going to be entertaining.
Very entertaining.
I raised my hand slowly above my head while keeping my eyes on both women.
Neither of them moved.
Neither of them even blinked.
The tension in the room kept building little by little until it almost felt heavy enough to physically touch.
Then I brought my hand down sharply.
That was the signal.
Immediately, both of them shifted into motion.
The speed was absurd.
One second they were standing apart, and the next second they had already crossed the distance between them. Their bodies blurred so fast that it almost looked fake. Like somebody had edited reality itself and skipped several frames.
Honestly, if someone recorded this on video, people would probably accuse it of being edited.
It would look like somebody paused the footage, dragged both fighters closer together, and resumed the recording to fake super speed.
Except that wasn’t editing.
That actually happened.
The instant they collided, a heavy burst of air exploded outward from the impact.
The pressure brushed against my body hard enough to make my clothes flutter slightly.
"Looks like they’re almost comparable in terms of speed and strength," I muttered quietly.
That alone was already impressive.
Meria clearly had the advantage in raw physical strength. Her body was naturally monstrous even among powerful races. Meanwhile, Zes had reached this level through mastery over mana and combat experience.
She had adapted herself to this world surprisingly well too.
Her understanding of mana had improved to the point where she could naturally weave it into her movements and physical abilities without hesitation. Because of that, her strength had increased even further, enough for her to stand toe-to-toe against someone like Meria.
And honestly, that was ridiculous in itself.
Meria wasn’t just stronger than humans.
She was an ogre.
A naturally powerful race whose physical capabilities were already far beyond ordinary standards.
Still...
"It looks like even with that, Zes still can’t overcome the natural strength of ogres."
The difference slowly became obvious.
Their fists remained locked against each other for a moment, muscles tightening as the floor underneath them cracked slightly from the pressure alone.
Then Meria smiled.
It wasn’t a friendly smile either.
It was the kind of smile that said she had realized she was winning.
Zes noticed it too.
A second later, Zes started getting pushed backward.
At first, it was gradual.
Just a few inches.
Then more.
The muscles in her arms visibly tensed as she tried to resist, but Meria’s strength was simply overwhelming. Raw power poured out from the ogre woman like a tidal wave crashing forward without stopping.
Before Zes could properly recover her footing, Meria suddenly forced her away completely.
The impact sent Zes flying backward across the training room.
Her feet skidded violently against the floor as she tried to stabilize herself, leaving visible marks behind from the friction. Then her body slammed hard into the wall behind her.
A loud boom echoed throughout the room.
Dust shook loose from the impact point.
The wall itself trembled slightly.
It wasn’t enough to seriously injure someone like Zes, but yeah, that definitely looked painful as hell.
Honestly, getting hit like that would probably turn a normal person into paste. Good thing neither of these women could really be called normal anymore.
